Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSI) is proud to once again be ranked among “The Best Employers for Women” by Forbes for 2021.

Forbes collaborated with market research firm Statista, surveying 50,000 Americans, including 30,000 women, working for businesses that employ more than 1,000 workers. The respondents were asked to share their opinion on a series of statements about their respective employer’s culture, opportunities for career development, image, working conditions, salary and wages, and diversity.

At WSI, we are continually working to create an inclusive workplace for all and are particularly proud of our representation of females at all levels within our company. We are a company of over 65% female-identifying associates, and over 50% of our current board members are female-identifying. We continue to make progress in supporting and advancing women inside WSI through policies and a culture that cultivates gender inclusivity and equity. A few highlights include:

  • WSI celebrated International Women’s Day by showcasing our commitment to women’s equality, highlighting women’s achievements, and honoring our associates and partners through a series of events, articles, and resource sharing.
  • We remain focused on female representation and advancement at all levels of our organization. Overall, 72% of promotions were female in 2021.
  • To date, our partnership with HERproject, an organization that empowers women in supply chains through workplace programs promoting health, financial inclusion, and positive gender relationships has impacted over 63,000 workers.
  • We continue to provide career development support through a variety of associate programs.
